hey mark
I've been up to alot the last couple of years. I guess the biggest thing is that about 18 months ago I finally faced up to alot of the discomfortand alienation i've felt with my body and my presentation as female to the world and started the process of transitioning in order to pass as male. Looking back, I know that i never felt comfortable with the person i was in England or how i was seen (as a woman) by others. Without any kind of understanding of what it means to be transsexual (that is, to know that the gender I am is not the one I was labelled as at birth or throughout most of my early life), I didn't really know what to make of the discomfort i felt. Starting to medically transition (by taking testosterone) and being able to present as male in the world has made me feel more comfortable with mybody and my presence in the world than I ever was in England. I've been depressed all the time you've known me, and right now, for the first time in a really, really long time i'm able to feel really good about my life and myself.I would appreciate it if you, as my friend, were able to understand that me transitioning has been one of the best decisions i've made in years, and that you are happy to keep up a friendship with the person i am now, a(flamingly gay) guy. I know this is going to be alot for you to take in. I'm open to questions but I am unlikely to feel comfortable with questions about what my body looks like now. If any other questions make me feel uncomfortable i'll make that clear to you and maybe suggest places where you're able to find out more information about the process oftransitioning. I also go by the name Kieran now. Again, hope this finds you well Kieran

Ivor was stabbed!? Is this true?
From Andy (Guitarist with I.O.D who I finally got in touch with after 5 years!)
I am amazed you don`t have any grey hairs with the amount of running about you used to do! I know I have a few now, but what with Grecian 2000 I manage to keep looking as young as ever! Bet Ivor hasn`t got any grey though! I haven`t managed to contact him since his last Gambia voyage, he sort of disappeared off the map after that! I have heard a number of rumours from different punks that I have run into over the last few months. One is that he was stabbed!? Is this true? It would be a shame if he has run into real problems, do you know if he is okay now?
Best of luck moving the c.d.’s, I lent one out to someone at work the other day and they quite liked it (maybe they were being nice!), but there may be hope yet!
I no longer see Dan except when we run into each other in Sainsburys. Unfortunately we went our separate ways after the band, his marriage broke up, my relationship with Evette broke up and this caused frictions (apparently!), hey ho! He is settled with a northern woman now and is into fetish and piercing. Maybe if he was found in a hotel room hanging from a belt with an apple up his arse (a la Michael Hutchence), cd sales may pick up! It worked for INXS, I will suggest it next time we meet, although I think the chances of him going for it are slim.
I am still good friends with Matt and Si, both of whom now play in 20SJO, although we all now have careers in computing I like to think we are bringing the system down from the inside!!
Anyways, it is good to hear back from you! Me and Matt thought that maybe you had jacked it all in to pursue a life of silent contemplation, we have this effect on people!
Will keep you posted as regards developments with 20 Second Jack Off, you never know, we may bankrupt you yet!!!
All the best
Andy

Dear Mark,
Thanks for your e-mail.
As Hendrcks told you I am setting up a distribution and promotion network here in the Netherlands for independent and specialised Record Labels from the UK.
Almost a year ago I was approached by some friends in England looking for a distribution deal in Holland but no-one was interested and the distributors I spoke to didn't even listen to the CD. So, on the basis that there must be loads of interesting music looking for some attention, the idea emerged of distributing and promoting UK independent labels myself.
Holland has over a thousand Record and CD outlets. Amsterdam alone has over sixty independent record and CD shops, many of whom I have spoken to. The vast majority have been enthusiastic about the idea of promoting and selling product from the specialised British Labels, which are acknowledged to be the driving force and inspiration behind new and progressive ideas within the music industry.
We shall be starting in the New Year, and we'd be pleased to handle your CDs if you wish. I've asked all the labels who are going to work with us to supply some copies of a sample CD ( and make one up if they don't already have one) that I can take around the record shops with me before our launch, so if you could do that it would be very useful.
Regards
Hugh

Hi Mark
We exchanged some e-mail a few months ago, and sent me some music. Very rudely I didn't get back to you.
Thanks for sending the music, but the truth is we won't be handling any heavy metal as I'm in my fifties, and although I enjoyed my head banging days, there over now.
My apologies for not getting back to you.
Regards
Hugh
