Maybe do an acoustic funk/jazz set?

Hi Mark
Thanks for your email. I get the impression from the reviews below that these aren't really the kind of bands we're after at the Malt Cross. Phrases like "a fist in the head" and "start to draw blood" don't quite fit in with the chilled out, laid back, cafe-bar vibe we've got going on here. Could they maybe do an acoustic funk/jazz set? maybe a bit like the Brand New Heavies? Cheers Ronnie

Not in a Clothing store

Subject: GIG CANCELLED
We are very sorry to announce that tonight's gig at Merc has been cancelled.
Our drummer is refusing to play because his principles will not allow him to perform at a clothing store. Why he could not have informed us of this earlier we are not sure, however the fact remains, despite pleas from the rest of the band for him to reconsider, he is unwilling to budge and we therefore have no alternative but to cancel. Please accept our humble apologies, especially if you don't receive this email in time and travel to the venue only to be disappointed.
All the best,
SGH

Tony Blair says he hopes an environmental conference in London tomorrow will help 'build the foundations' of a global response to climate change.

The first meeting to take place under the new Gleneagles dialogue will include the G8 countries as well as China, India, Brazil, Mexico and South Africa.

Writing in a Sunday newspaper, the PM said it was a 'potentially crucial week' that would focus on 'what is needed to make the transition to a low carbon economy.'

Climate change can only be addressed, he said, through technological development and a 'robust, inclusive and binding international treaty.'

"We need to see how the existing energy technologies we have such as wind, solar and - yes - nuclear, together with new technologies such as fuel cells and carbon capture and storage, can generate the low carbon power the world needs."
