Dear Mr. Sampson,

I am currently conducting research for my geography dissertation at Nottingham University on Birmingham’s music industry. The main aim of the project is to understand the role that Birmingham plays within the music industry and how it can develop itself as a centre of musical production within the UK and challenge the current trend of gravitation towards London.

I have recently conducted an interview with Jon Cotton and he suggested that I should try and speak to you due to your rich knowledge of the musical industry and first hand experience of attempting to develop Birmingham’s industry. It would be fantastic if I could interview you for a short amount of time.
