Johnathan Goodwin strikes again

7th October 4th November - Local installation artist Laurie Richardson
exhibits "Dirty Laundry" in the Library Foyer.

The exhibit is based around the life in a Laundrette looking into the
lives of people that take time out of their lives to wash their washing
spin around.

Says Laurie, "The idea of looking in the the insights of such a mundane thing such as washing was almost compelling in its own right and I wanted to take the idea and develop an interesting approach on it. I chose to focus on what people do and talk about almost like airing their gossip out to dry and with that in mind I had the idea of hanging my artwork from a washing line. I chose the location around Birmingham and felt the subject of Laundrettes quite compelling how we are now in the 20th Century and still have public use of washing and drying our clothes."
