Free and Fair Elections

Election of new members for the

Screen Image and Sound Cluster Opportunity Group

Advantage West Midlands

An election is taking place for the music and radio representatives for the Screen Image and Sound Cluster Opportunity Group. The Group is an advisory body working with the regional development agency on strategy and investment decisions on improving business competitiveness in the Screen Image and Sound industries.

Members are expected to act as individuals, rather than representing any particular business, body or organisation. They bring their knowledge to the Group, which works on a voluntary basis, to offer a coherent cross-sector view to the agency.

There are 6 vacancies: 2 places for music, 2 for radio and 2 for photography/digital imaging.

Following a call for nominations, there are six candidates for music, three for radio and none for photography/digital imaging. Profiles of the candidates are available at http://www.advantagewm.co.uk/screen-image-and-sound.html or on request from siscogbote@advantagewm.co.uk

Who can vote?

Anyone working in a business (SME) or as a freelance/sole trader in the Screen Image and Sound industries in the West Midlands: as a guide these are Film TV animation, games, elearning, web content, music, radio and digital imaging. A business email address will be taken as evidence of engagement in the SIS industries. Multiple web based/ISP email accounts may be scrutinised for validity.

One person may vote for 4 candidates, 2 in the music category and 2 in the radio category. Voters may not use more than 2 votes in either of the industry categories. Voters do not have to use all their available votes. Voting for the same person twice is not allowed. Candidates may vote for themselves and one other in their category as well as two people in the other industry category.

Steve,
Could you send the following out with the two attachments to the database? Appreciate this. We have to stop Dutch getting there. On a direct personal contact basis we're getting quite alot of support but need much more. Please let me know if you have a problem with this.

From Geoff:
Hi,
John Mostyn and myself are standing as COG members (Creative Opportunity Group)
in the current election as the Music Industry representatives.

"The Group is an advisory body working with the regional development agency on strategy
and investment decisions on improving business competitiveness in the Screen Image and
Sound industries."

Basically this group has an input on public funding of the creative industries in the region.

We are looking for your support in voting for us.

I have attached more information about the group and the election. This has been
compiled by Advantage West Midlands. I have also attached our nomination info
so if you don't know at least you can see a little of what we are about.

If you feel you can support us in this all you need to do is email the following:

Re Election of COG Members:

GEOFF PEARCE
JOHN MOSTYN

And please send to:

' siscogvote@advantagewm.co.uk '
