Hi John
Ian here, sorry to inform you that unfortunately i have to ask ifrefrain from claiming one of your mentees. Due to the fact of alloutstanding mentor paperwork had to be in by a certain time andeveryone rushed to bring them in. I now find myself with thepredicament of shaving down the amount mentors can claim. So i amasking from the bottom of my heart if you could assist me on this and claim for one less than the proposed amount. I apologise for any inconvenience, and hope we can resolve this matter.Regards Ian Campbell

Gentlemen,
Re the messages below I just want to go on the record as being very unhappy.Following the efforts that I have made to treat BMN with respect and work to forge some links I feel that I have been deeply dissed.Geoff and I did the first seminar on management for you which I know was a great success - at a reduced friendly fee I should add! Then I put a lot of work into getting Jonathan Shallit up for a unique seminar which I presented to you on a plate. You asked me to mentor a couple of people which I diligently did then I get the mail below.Ok I get over that and try to help you out of a difficult situation by waiving my fees of £450.Then I get the mail from Naomi where BMN have put together a reasonable group of experts but completely ignored me - the bloke who has sold more records as a manager than anyone else in the City ever and who has stayed around and is happy to share his experience with young up and comers and is really good at it.I do not expect a reply but I just wanted to let you know how disappointed I am with what I hope is a lack of common sense.
Yours,
Mostyn

Hi John
There was no lack of common sense where this decision was made. Our main objective is to provide our members with a wide variety of speakers and industry minds that can empower them. We can't seem to be offering the same names and faces to speaks at events we are involved in, and we must offer diversity. This is not a personal ploy to annoy you, but a decision to expand on what we have already achieved. Since then we have put your name forward for the Music Live event seminar in November @ The NEC in-conjunction with AWM, MU, Sound Control, Clarion Events and ourselves The BMN. Which in turn is just as important if not more as it has a National Remit of attendees. So i don't quite understand where your coming from in your response. As you well know in this game to quote " you can please some people some of the time but you can't please all the people all of the time". Also can you give some indication as to when i can expect the rest of the Mentoring paperwork off you
Yours
Campbell

Gentlemen,
This does not seem to be in Ian's usual language. Can I therefor assume that it is written by someone reflecting the official line of BMN? As I mentioned I simply wanted to state my displeasure and was not looking for a response, however this response has only increased my unhappiness.Probably best to leave it there but I would like to know who wrote this reply.Yours sincerely,John Mostyn
Hi John
It was written by me, and would like to stress that this is my private e-mail address so only i have access to this. John, i am a writer and singer of songs. So words are not a problem for me to express, especially when expressing fairness. As Project Manager of a Network therefore it is my duty to be fair to client and service provider both. I am deeply baffled i further increased your displeasure and can only hope we can bounce back from this. The staff and i have valued your services and are looking to utilise them further as stated "The Music Union event at the NEC". I am not going to fall out with you over this, as we are working towards further Music in our region. Lets just agree to disagree.Yours sincerelyIan Campbell
